This was the second in a series of Geishas that I painted following our trip to Japan. On a visit to Kyoto we saw this group of girls dressed in traditional Kimonos. I am fascinated by body language as so much can be told of a persons personality by the way they hold themselves - more so I think than facial expressions, which these days can be schooled to hide ones thoughts.
The ‘seventh’ geishas can just be seen behind the girl second to right.
