Completing my series on Japan I had to include one of the famous tea ceremonies. In Tokyo we visited a traditional tea house and were served delicious green tea and cakes by a delightful lady dressed like a doll. The whole experience was fascinating to watch and made us feel very special. I tried to recreate the atmosphere of that day with painting I did in my studio on our return using gold leaf to make the background shimmer.
