Sunrise on the A22

This is an unusual subject matter but one I felt compelled to paint. The early morning light during the winter months on the A22 motorway can be dangerous if you are driving into the rising sun, but equally the way that the light bounces off the metal of the vehicles creating unexpected colour prisms that reflect the soft yellows and blues of the sunrise is beautiful to behold.

One morning I asked my husband to drive me to my gallery so that my hands were free to take as many photos as I could in order to recreate that glow of light in my studio.

This one of my favourite pieces.
