Roman Bridge Walk, Tavira Original Painting
The Ponte Romana is an iconic landmark in Tavira and forms part of the trade route from Europe to Africa that crossed the Rio Gilão. The current bridge was built in 1667 on the foundations of the original Roman Bridge and fortunately is now designated as pedestrian only. As a tribute the age of the bridge I decided to paint this scene in the oldest colour palette known to history, the same ones used in cave paintings - yellow ochre, red, black and white. I think it lends a certain classical atmosphere to the piece.
Original Painting 1m x 50cm
Other sizes available
Print size 40cm x 19.5cm supplied in a white mount 50cm x 40cm
Print size 20cm x 10cm supplied in a white mount 30cm x 21cm
