Some time ago I had a small exhibition in the beautiful historic university city of Coimbra in northern Portugal. As much of the pieces shown were depictions of other parts of the country I painted this as my tribute to this wonderful city. I chose as my subject one of the quieter streets away from the crowds as I felt it portrayed the ageless history better than the more touristic areas.
