I love the beach at Alvor in the south of Portugal and have painted it many times, each one selling sometimes before the paint is quite dry. I love the colours in the rock formations and the way the light highlights their cragginess. This one was painted as the sun was setting, throwing rays of golden light into the gently lapping sea.
