Countless Dawns

Occasionally an idea for a painting comes not so much from a physical memory of a place I’ve visited but from vision I have in my head. This is one such scenario.

I love trees, especially the ancient olive trees that southern Europe is famous for, some of which have been around for centuries. What stories they could tell. How many lives have lived and died around them? How different are the sounds and smells from when it was first a sapling in the ground?
