Carvoeiro
I painted this scene during the summer of 2019, when terms such as ‘social distancing’ and ‘PCR tests’ were completely unheard of.
Interestingly, I’ve painted several crowded beach scenes and have sold every one almost immediately. I think, like me, people missed those days of nothing to fear.
This scene is taken from the road out of Carvoeiro along the coast where you have an almost birds-eye view of the town with its white-washed houses gleaming in the sunlight offset against the subtle colours of the rugged cliffs.
