Rio Gilhão Tavira

Tavira is one of the most picturesque cities in the Algarve and its Roman Bridge one of the most photographed.

Instead of painting the bridge itself, my attention was drawn to the morning light falling on the rooftops of the old buildings bordering it and the busy cafes on the opposite bank.

Cerulean and Cobalt Blue get used a lot in my paintings as the skies here demand it, this piece is bluer than most.
