Staircase Diptych

I was commissioned to paint a scene to go on a clients grand staircase. The brief asked for a dramatic beach scene with crashing waves, a few people but it must include seagulls as the client is particularly fond of them.

I had to clear space in my gallery to paint them as I needed to hang them so that the left hand canvas flowed seamlessly into the right hand one.
