I was contacted to paint the portrait of a person I had never met. So to help give myself a feeling for who they were I asked for details of their life; their loves, their hobbies, where they live, their personality...

In this case the sitter was a retired architect that lived in an area of France surrounded by sunflowers, he is shown with his favourite dog. He loves classical music, modern stained glass and a gin and tonic every day at 4pm.
